Dear friends,

Welcome to www.yogakaruna.com! Thank you for your interest. I’m happy to share with you the experience of yoga that I love so much, and brings me so much joy.

Karuna is a Sanskrit word that means compassion. The style of yoga that I teach is grounded in and flows from the compassionate heart—compassion and kindness towards ourselves, each other, and our world. In 1970, I journeyed into the wilderness near the Yukon Territory for one year with my partner, Paul, and a life-changing book called Light on Yoga, by BKS Iyengar. Since then I’ve practiced yoga almost every day, and keep falling deeper and deeper in love with this ancient wisdom tradition.

I hope that we’ll be able to practice together, and connect in the vast spaciousness of the true essence of yoga. I invite you to join us for weekly classes at 182 Baker St (Kutenais’ Finest) in Nelson. You may be inspired by a peaceful yoga and meditation retreat at the Tipi Camp, a transformational retreat/teacher training and certification program in Nelson, British Columbia, or a magical yoga retreat and cultural journey in Bali. I also offer workshops with the brilliant mystical teacher Andrew Harvey, and with the spacious and loving meditation teacher Paul Erickson.
